clever isn’t good enough

One of the rules I try to apply when editing my own photography, is that clever isn’t good enough. This is one of the main tools I use to cut down stuff in the monthly and yearly sets.

I think if I could also aggressively apply a maxim that beautiful isn’t good enough, and interesting isn’t good enough, and smart isn’t good enough, and if I still had any fucking photographs left, I would have achieved something pretty spectacular.
