it's funny how strong a response people have to lapsang souchong -- one of the few really polarizing beverages; people love it or hate it.

If you do try working with older lenses on the D40, there's a great flickr group dedicated to shooting with older lenses on DSLRs, and particularly on consumer DSLRs like the D40 which don't meter with old glass:

Happy shooting : )

I clicked through to your blog from TOP and have enjoyed your posts and as a recent D40 purchaser I am inspired to try a manual focus lens.

It is really nice to meet another person who appreciates Lapsang Souchong. My Grandmother put me on to it when I was about 12 - loved it ever since. I buy mine wherever I can get but if I'm in covent garden, (I live in the suburbs outside london) I buy some at the Tea House which smells and tastes just wonderful. I love drinking a cup whilst eating big fat juicy dates. The combination, to me, is quite the thing.

My father was a Sailor (Royal Navy) and he always said the ships were always kept spotless except the inside of the mess tea pot, sometimes decades of accumulated tea stain were said to improve the flavour.

Thanks again

Gavin
